About Me:

My name is Amanda and I am the founder of Amanda Davis Doula and Denver Birth Collective. I’m an advocate, an educator, a partner, and a mother of 3 fantastic humans. My family and I live in Denver, CO, but our hearts are also tied to Portland, OR where we lived for 8 years. We miss the rain and lush greenery, but the sunshine here in the Denver area can’t be matched! I absolutely love family, coffee, and connection. When I’m not home-educating, you’ll usually find me near water, thrift shopping, or playing with my dogs. Unless I’m at a birth!

My decision to become a full-spectrum doula comes from a very personal place. I became a young mother at 18, and had the experience first hand of not being heard, prioritized, or advocated for in my pregnancy and birth. This stuck with me as I entered subsequent pregnancies and learned not only how to advocate for myself, but gained the knowledge through the midwives and doulas around me to ask questions, seek answers, and ultimately trust my instincts. Not only did these experiences shape who I am as a person and a mother, they also solidified my desire to help others seek education and gain confidence in trusting themselves and their bodies. I have witnessed instances where birthing people have not been respected and heard, and oftentimes even more so due to their race, ethnicity, or economic status. I’m here to change that. By holding space for you, ensuring compassion unbiased support, I will work to support your choices for birth wholeheartedly. No person deserves anything less than the birth they hope their knowledge and power will bring. We all know that sometimes birth throws surprises at us, but it’s my goal to ensure that the birthing person is making the informed decisions that ensure they have complete independence and strength every step of the way.

Birth is an opportunity to transcend. To rise above what
we are accustomed to, reach deeper inside ourselves than
we are familiar with, and to see not only what we are truly
made of, but the strength we can access in and through
birth.” – Marcie Macari
